Support The Center for Academic Resiliency
We Stand Together as One
Help build resilience by supporting the delivery of evidence-based programs to small groups and individuals experiencing trauma.
Our tradition teaches that “All of Israel is responsible for one another.” Today, these words resonate more deeply than ever.
Through the most recent firestorm of missiles that rained down on communities across Israel, we stand united in our support for and we mourn the senseless loss of life in this threat to our open and democratic society.
Sadly, more than 14,000 Israelis have been injured since October 7th and more than 3,000 have suffered major life altering physical and emotional injuries. The BIU community has not been spared from the terror; many in our BIU family have had their homes completely destroyed, have lost children or family members; their lives forever changed.
Our interdisciplinary team of psychologists, social workers and medical professionals – while facing their own personal traumas – are working together in hospitals and rehab centers in communities that surround our campuses in Ramat Gan and in Tzfat. Our teams are doing whatever it takes, with the needs of our students the top priority.
Sunflower: The Center for Academic Resiliency at Bar-Ilan University
In the face of overwhelming challenges, “resilience”, building the capacity to withstand or recover quickly from adversity, is not automatic. For most experiencing trauma, resilience needs to be cultivated, nurtured, and reinforced. Our Center for Academic Resiliency is our response, with our teams delivering evidence-based programs to small groups and individuals experiencing trauma. We help people develop resilience strategies, giving them the tools they need to face their daily challenges.
Our Center’s experienced First Responders, “frontline aid workers” meet and treat those affected by the conflict, especially students returning from the battlefield to re-engage in academic study.
Canadian Friends helped launch the project in 2024 and your generosity continues our commitment to sustain and respond to the increased demand for essential trauma recovery programs that make a lasting difference.
