This Rosh Hashanah
Sound the Call for Resilience
Your gift will awaken hope, inspire change, and strengthen lives.
The shofar blast is a clarion call to action, awakening our spirit and reminds us of our shared responsibility: “Kol Yisrael arevim zeh bazeh” – all of Israel is responsible for one another.
In this month of Elul, let your response be one of giving. Your support for Sunflower: The Center for Academic Resiliency at Bar-Ilan University will empower students, faculty, and communities to face their future with courage and the capacity to rebuild their lives with dignity.
The Need Is Urgent
Since October 7th, more than 3,000 Israelis have suffered major, life-altering physical and emotional wounds. The Bar-Ilan University family has not been spared—homes destroyed, loved ones lost, lives forever changed.
Our interdisciplinary team of psychologists, social workers, and medical professionals—while facing their own personal traumas—continue to serve in hospitals, rehab centers, and the communities surrounding our campuses in Ramat Gan and Tzfat. With our students’ needs as the highest priority, they are doing whatever it takes.
Sunflower: The Center for Academic Resiliency
Resilience is not automatic – it must be cultivated, nurtured, and reinforced. This is why Bar-Ilan University launched the the Sunflower Center: to deliver evidence-based programs for individuals and small groups experiencing trauma.
Our Resilience Counselors and frontline aid workers meet and treat those most affected, especially students.
Canadian Friends of Bar-Ilan University helped launch this vital project in 2024. With your generosity, we can sustain it and bring people closer to renewed spirit, resilience and hope, delivering recovery programs that make a lasting difference.
